Job Purpose
  • Provide a comprehensive financial support service for Foods Manufacturing and provide financial leadership to the commercial and operational management teams to ensure the delivery of the annual budget and 3 year plan.
  • To manage the development of the Finance team and business systems to enable the business to deliver improved performance against it strategic business objectives. 
  • This role is deputy for the Finance Director (Manufacturing) and will be required to represent the Finance Director when he is not available in meetings relating to Food Manufacturing.

Dimensions

Responsible for managing all aspects of the commercial, financial and operational accounting information for 3 food manufacturing sites with a combined turnover of £450M and ensuring key.

  • Responsible for the Commercial and management finance accounting of the Food Manufacturing business
  • Contribute to the delivery of the Food Manufacturing Budgets

Principal Responsibilities
  • To deliver support, analysis and advice on financial, accounting and administrative matters throughout the business
  • Liaison and provide guidance to the Commercial and Operational management on short/long term financial issues, risks and opportunities
  • Supervise the period end / year end accounting exercise and submission of consolidated accounts.  Ensure that the Commercial & Operational teams are fully aware of the issues within the management accounts and that they have action in place to address these issues.  
  • Manage the production of the financial forecasts, budgets and long range plans for the production sites and SBAs and provide guidance to the business on areas of poor profitability and performance which requires addressing.
  • Provide financial support and guidance to the tender process and ensure that all costs are fully transparent, accurate and understood by the business and that margin proposals have been challenged and agreed from a financial perspective. 
  • Responsibility for the integrity of the manufacturing and commercial financial systems
  • Liaison with internal and external auditors to ensure all controls meet statutory and internal control requirements.
  • To ensure that the business adheres to Group accounting policies and procedures
  • To manage the business plan of the Department, with particular emphasis upon people management and training needs 
Knowledge
  • Qualified accountant
  • Manufacturing experience within a FMCG business
  • Significant experience with SAP 
  • Advanced Excel 
  • MS Office
