Due to growth and internal progression within the business Princes Wisbech are looking for a Factory General Manager to join our Wisbech site. This is an opportunity to work for one of the UK's leading FMCG businesses! 

Job Purpose
  • Lead, direct and take ownership for delivery and improvement of key metrics – Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost & People.
  • Lead on the championing and embedding of the Princes values, competencies and behaviours.
  • Coach, mentor and lead the site leadership team in the knowledge, deployment and application of the Princes Operational Excellence System.
  • Develop High Performing Leadership Teams at all levels in line with the Princes Organisational Design principles.
  • Deliver the Strategic plans as measured by the business balanced scorecard key performance indicators.
  • Manage relationships and adherence to the Must Win Battle Plan [MWBP], Balanced scorecard, Audit compliance Quality and EH&S and Capital expenditure

Principal Responsibilities

Business Awareness
  • Budgetary control of cost centres, P&L, Inventory, Service Levels
  • Matrix management reporting
  • End to End (Value Stream Maps) supply chains
  • Policy Deployment, Must Win Battle Plans, Floor Management System
  • Ensure that ‘The Voice of the Customer’ is clearly heard across the site. Production, Quality and EH&S standards, specifications & compliance.

Leading a Team
  • Effectively manage the interface with the various indirect support functions Technical Marketing/NPD and Logistics to ensure that production achieves and exceeds customer requirements across the site.
  • Lead and develop the teams across the two sites to create a high performing culture and a desire to succeed.
  • Actively lead the team through the Princes values, competencies and behaviours.
  • Actively promote the key manufacturing philosophies of “Go Look See Ask” & “Stop & Fix”.
  • Create & maintain a Culture of Reliability. Ensure all plant and equipment is operating to maximum operational efficiency.  
  • Confirm that all Autonomous, Planned Maintenance & Root Cause Analysis activity is achieved to minimise downtime and remedial expenditure.
  • Ensure that the Princes Early Equipment Management processes are followed ensuring all capital expenditure projects is delivered on a timely basis with costs and benefits in line with approved levels. 
  • Quality – development, deployment and engagement in improving culture through use of control plans for suppliers, production lines, MES for RFT, training and development of FMEA’s to manage customer audits
  • Environmental, Health & Safety – development and engagement in further improving culture, energy, incident and hazard reduction.
General Responsibilities 
  • Understanding and implementation of lean manufacturing work practices including 5S, AM and problem solving (including root cause analysis), to drive continuous improvement activity throughout the site
  • Have a detailed understanding of the Princes Operational Excellence System and the Site Must Win Battle Plan
  • Ensure all training for direct reports is documented using the appropriate skills matrix. 
  • You must exercise reasonable skill and care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work and you must not interfere with or obstruct anything provided in the interests of health and safety at work.
  • The incumbent should demonstrate behaviours which are in line with the site values & help to improve the Quality, Safety & Environmental culture.
  • Support the business in working towards delivering our ethical trading and human rights vision.
  • When engaging with internal and external stakeholders (such as consumers, customers or suppliers) maximise any potential opportunities to communicate Princes’ ethical trade and human rights approach.

  • Graduate calibre
  • Proven Lean & Change management leadership skills within a best in class 
  • environment in the following sectors; Automotive, Aerospace, FMCG or Pharmaceutical.
