Job Purpose

To maximise customer service levels whilst maintaining target stock levels, 
through efficient production scheduling for the Caprisun business.

Support Bradford site vision, to be the home of operational excellence and the customer’s first choice soft drinks manufacturer


Dimensions

•    100 Finished Product SKU’s and 100+ Semi-Finished SKU’s
•    £90m of Raw Materials.
•    No Direct Reports.


Principal Accountabilities

•    Be supportive, act with integrity, show enthusiasm and embrace openness
•    Have an understanding of the Princes Manufacturing System (PMS) and maturity matrix, and site must win projects and battle plans
•    Understand and implement lean manufacturing work practices including 5s, to drive continuous improvement activity at site 
•    Produce and maintain production plans to meet forecast and actual sales demand for Bradford  site – for Caprisun production.
•    Define and maintain stock holding parameters to provide economic production and purchasing profiles, whilst meeting centrally agreed stock targets.
•    Manipulate production schedules to ensure efficient usage of people, plant and materials.
•    Own and drive the day to day process of averting potential shortages and protecting service
•    Plan and control activities of external contract for multi-packaging.
•    Schedule bulk material orders to support production plans, liaising with suppliers, balancing stock and lead times.
•    Provide absence cover for the planning team - Material Schedulers and production planners, thus requiring multi-skills in all aspects of packaging and ingredients supply.
•    Seek efficiency improvements in methods of planning and scheduling through effective utilisation of SAP & APO functionality, controlling all MRP planning relevant material master. 
•    Generate and issue forecast information to key suppliers.

•    Contribute to the health & safety of self and others by applying health and safety principles to the required standards whilst undertaking designated tasks.


General Responsibilities 

•    Understanding and implementation of lean manufacturing work practices including 5S, AM and problem solving (including root cause analysis), to drive continuous improvement activity throughout the site
•    You must exercise reasonable skill and care for the health and safety of yourself and other people at work and you must not interfere with or obstruct anything provided in the interests of health and safety at work.
•    The incumbent should demonstrate behaviours which are in line with the site values & help to improve the Quality, Safety & Environmental culture.
•    Support the business in working towards delivering our ethical trading and human rights vision.
•    When engaging with internal and external stakeholders (such as consumers, customers or suppliers) maximise any potential opportunities to communicate Princes’ ethical trade and human rights approach.
To maintain product Food Safety, Legality, Integrity, Authenticity and Quality standards by ensuring all associated policies and procedures are adhered to.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

•    The position requires fundamental understanding and experience of the major aspects of integrated planning software: Production Planning, Materials Requirements Planning, Sales & Operations Planning, Capacity Planning, Master Production Scheduling
•    Ability to develop & maintain effective communications to ensure accurate & timely information is known & available to key factory personnel & Group Head Office.
•    Advanced knowledge of planning and supply chain in an FMCG environment 
•    Ability to communicate with staff and management at all levels.
•    Strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
•    Ability to manage own workload to meet agreed deadlines.
